Publish Date : 11/25/2004 11:54:00 AM   Source : Advertising and Business News

ArcheBooks Publishing (www.ArcheBooks.com) has announced the release of Murder a la Carte, the first in the Recipes for Murder series featuring Miami broadcaster Clyde Colby. The novel is authored by Prudy Taylor Board, now a novelist living Delray Beach novelist and an editor with Taylor & Francis Publishing in Boca Raton. This novel, which takes place on a fictional island resort off Florida’s Gulf Coast, embroils the hostess of a Miami-based TV cooking show in a nefarious murder-for-hire scheme involving the chief executive officers of Fortune 500 companies. It includes recipes Chef Henri Doucette prepares in the book featuring South Florida seafood and fruit.

The book draws upon Taylor Board’s own experience as a TV reporter and her firsthand knowledge of the hotel industry. A Fort Myers native, Taylor Board grew up in the Bradford Hotel where her father worked. Taylor Board also is currently a creative writing teacher in Atlantic High School’s continuing education program and does creative writing workshops around the country. For many years, she taught creative writing classes at area schools Lee and Collier Counties. She was also managing editor of Home and Condo Magazine as well as assignment editor at WINK-TV and WBBH-TV.

After leaving Fort Myers in 1998, Taylor Board was named managing editor of the Dartnell business publications and personally edited SelL!ng™ and Sales & Marketing Executive Report for LRP publications, the parent company, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. Her previous novels include The Vow and Blood Legacy. She is also the author of numerous books documenting the histories of Florida’s towns and architectural treasures. The most recent of these are the history of Barry University in Miami, the Port Royal Club in Naples, and the history of Dania Beach. Also recently released was her how-to book for writers entitled 101 Tips on Writing and Selling Your First Novel.
Board was a presenter in October at Bouchercon 2004 in Toronto and signed at the Miami Book Fair in November. She will be in Naples on December 4, 2004 for a private signing and at Borders, 10600 North Tamiami Trail, on December 4 at 3 p.m.. She will do signings in Las Vegas in January, be a presenter at the Naples Press Club and the Love Is Murder Conference in Chicago in February. In March she will do a workshop for the Lee County Reading Festival and in April she’ll be at the Tallahassee Writers’ Association Conference and in May she’ll be at Malice Domestic in Washington, D.C.
